After discovering a Brewmaster's* logbook from the late-1930s* with a reference to the original 1878 Genesee Bock Beer recipe, we were inspired to create this very traditional Double Bock - a take on our current Genny Bock spring seasonal. Wonderful malty flavors and aromas transform into deep raisin and chewy caramel characters creating a flavorful, smooth beer with a medium full mouthfeel. While the dark Munich malt provides subtle toasted biscuit notes, the malty profile of this beer is balanced by exceptionally clean bitterness from the traditional noble German Hallertau hops.
Genesee Brew House Pilot Batch Series
Dean Jones is an award-winning brewer with over 25 years of experience in the brewing industry. Since 2012, he has been the Brewmaster of the Pilot Batch System in the Genesee Brew House, and he frequently collaborates with other Rochester brewers and artisans on his brews.
Each beer in the Pilot Batch Series was originally created and first crafted on the 20‑barrel pilot system at the Genesee Brew House, and is now proudly brewed and bottled at the Genesee Brewery.
